So Now That it’s Over

Saranya Patel, Age 10

So sadly Thanksgiving is over! That means for most people the next big holiday is Christmas (other than Cyber Monday or Black Friday). So most kids when they talk about Christmas, they say things like “What do you want for Christmas?” Some kids might ask “Do you believe in Santa Claus?”

But most kids- not all- don’t talk about spending time with friends and family. That’s probably what adults think about at Christmas but I don’t know because I’m only 10.

So some people say “I’m too busy to spend time with my family.” But that’s not always true. So a good Christmas idea is not just for Christmas, but could be true all year long. Here is the idea that my family does. All you do is take as many enveloped as needed for the amount of people in your family and write their names, and then drop notes in the envelopes with their names on it.

It doesn’t have to be long or serious, it can be short and sweet. Just write about your day or if you are mad say “sorry, let’s make up” or whatever. These letters are private so you can just be yourself. Bonus: this is a form of connecting…. plus, anyone can do it. ANYONE!
