Connection Crisis: The Coronavirus outbreak of 2019
If COVID-19 didn’t exist, I would be encouraging you to meet in person with someone you don’t exactly know. Toss that. Bury it down in the ground, burn it up and run it over with a car. For now. We need to take serious precautions to stop it from spreading. Sorry Republicans, not the time to support Trump. He thinks it will “go away” if we stop thinking about it. Say that to Ohio’s governor, who has 100,000 people in his state that have undiagnosed cases of the corona, or anybody over the age of 70. The death rate is 15-20% percent to them. Say that to anybody in Italy and they will eat you like a movie snack.
Ok, so back to the point. Do what you can to stop the spread of COVID-19. You need to be hygienic and clean. Wash your hands before you eat and after you use the bathroom. Problem: the corona can live on clothes and common household surfaces. Solution: wash your clothes and wipe couches and phone with Clorox. An average phone is about 4,000 times dirtier than a toilet seat. And please stay away from large crowds. Meet online. This is the best time how to learn how to use Skype and Facetime. Everything is going online. Don’t know how? Ask a kid that you know. They probably will help you. It might be embarrassing, but realistically, who really cares? Besides, you may rather ask now than a few years from now when it’s less, yes, less complicated. It will be even weirder later. The age of digital everything has just begun. So get ahead by making online friendships through the experience you share- being on a call with each other.
