A New Wilderness Competition

Saranya Patel, Age 10

So, starting June 18th there will be a new show on HBO Max called Karma where 16 kids compete for 30 days for a chance to win $50,000! I just wanted to say: The kid who wins Karma get way more then if an adult wins a baking or cooking show but Karma is WAY more work than a baking or cooking show.

Now why is Karma harder(in my opinion) than a baking/cooking show:

Well, the 16 kids (all aged 12-15) competed for 30 days while temporarily living in  the Sierra National Forest in California. They slept in tents and had NO access to the internet, phones, computers etc. The contestants goal is to be humble and helpful to each other and if they are they earn what is called Karma Points. Karma points help decide who will make it to the next round.

Now I just want to be clear, this show was filmed before the Coronavirus.

I am HAPPY that I read about Karma in The Week Junior! A Fun fact I found in the article is that 16 kids are chosen for the show but there was more than 14,000 applicants! If you are very adventurous or are interested in watching Karma you can watch it starting June 18th on HBO Max!

Be safe!
