Hi Welcome to this week’s blog post! Today I will be talking about a new world record for free-diving!
In Kalamata, Greece Arnaud Jerald, a 24 year-old frenchman broke the world record for freediving. Just Incase you are anything like me and don’t know what free-diving is it is diving underwater without any breathing equipment. He found out the record was just been broken by a Russian diver who was able to hold his breath over 364 feet so he went to go break it.
Holding his breath for 3 minutes and 24 seconds(with no equipment) Arnaud Jerald, dived 367 feet and broke the world record!
I actually didn’t know this until I saw a picture in a article in the Week junior but free-diving is in the middle of the ocean! Plus Arnaud Jerald went 367 feet down in the ocean! I definitely wouldn’t have the guts to one swim in the middle of the ocean but in free-diving they swim down(I don’t honestly know what I accepted) but they don’t have any gear!Every free-diver honestly deserves a big clap on the back because at least to me that is super impressive!
